Day 67 July 28th Paradise Valley

Gardiner MT to Pine Creek MT. 46 miles (2,887)

Today's ride ended with 17 miles of pure riding pleasure through Montana's Paradise Valley:

Here are some sites before I got to Paradise Valley:
I met Marshall while he was going toward Yellowstone:
Marshall is riding from Alaska to Argentina! So far he has ridden 1,200 miles from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Anchorage, Alaska, where he caught a plane to Bozeman, Montana. He had to skip Canada for now because of Covid restrictions; but will ride Canada when he gets back from Argentina in one and a half to two years. He is planning on hiking/climbing the highest mountain in each country he passes through.

On my way back from dinner I met a young couple who are staying in a cabin next to mine:
Neil and Kori giving the OH sign for Ohio. Neil is a fireman in Cleveland and Kori is a kindergarten teacher in a suburb outside of Cleveland. We ended our talk by agreeing that Neil and I would meet at 7:00 a.m. for a bicycle ride. Neil is going to ride with me part way to Livingston and then turn around as he and Kori have plans for fly fishing tomorrow.

  1. Making more friends along the way-very nice! You only need 113 miles to make it to 3k - WOW!

  2. Livingston; the trees all grow bent and pointed one way there, sure hope you get through there on one of the 5 not windy days a year. So encouraging to see your progress day to day, the people you meet and to look back just a few years when walking to the gate and back was exhausting after surgery. Blessings my friend!

I hope to ride a little in Yellowstone, Polson, and Glacier. Looking forward to getting some tips from you upon your return.

  7. What happened to Rolf? I was following him for a bit and he dropped off the face of the earth! What happened? Did he finish his ride without posting another Blog or did he give up only a state away from the finish line? Anyone know?
