Day 46 July 7th The Coasters

Rest Day 0 miles (2,017)

Today is dedicated to my friend Gary, who created the coasters that so many of you have and that I am giving out along my journey. These coasters are amazing. They open up so many conversations for me along the way. Everybody likes them. When I hand them out, I explain the map and the blog address. Then I say, "As you set your summer drink on the coaster, please send a thought or prayer my way." This cross country ride has been so amazing. I credit part of that to the prayers that are being sent - partly as a result of the coasters Gary made for me.
Some friends in Washington sent this to me:
Our grandson loves playing with your coaster!

That gave me the idea to ask some of you to send pictures with captions of how you use your coasters. Here is what I have received so far:

Using it every morning with my coffee

When I put it in my spokes it makes my bike go VROOOOOM

Kitchi - the adventure dog - peering out yonder, missing you and suffering from FOMO!

Perfect size for a Bierstein too!

It's all about the grind!

Enjoying my coaster as I follow you.

Anyone else who has a picture and caption to send me please text them to me and I will add them to this page.

Thanks again, Gary, for these awesome coasters!

Here is a close up:
I started out my rest day by having breakfast with cross country (west to east) rider Jon and his wife, Liesl, who is joining him for a significant distance from Chadron, Nebraska to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I forgot to take their picture so Jon sent me this picture of them taken in Chadron:
Jon shared a lot of helpful information and advice about my route between here and Spokane.
