Day 45 July 6th State Highways
Schuyler NE to Norfolk NE 56 miles (2,017)
Today I surpassed the 2,000 mile mark on this journey. A large audience was present to view this accomplishment, but some of them were too busy eating to appreciate it:
My morning started early, but stunningly:
I decided to ride state highways today, to get a feel for how it will be in western Nebraska and wastern Wyoming. Also, to be honest, I didn't want the workout that gravel roads inevitably bring. I felt like I needed a medium day instead of a hard day. Here, I am approaching a left turn from one state highway to the next:
For the most part the highways had adequate shoulders so that I felt reasonably comfortable. However, one highway stood out from the others because of its beautiful views low traffic and narrow shoulder:
The day ended at a restaurant offering authentic Indian cuisine:
That highway looked pretty nice, but not as nice as your dinnerπ
