Day 39 June 30th High Trestle

Ames IA to Coon Rapids IA 69 miles (1,703)

Today's highlight was definitely the High Trestle Bridge and Trail:

These metal "cribbs" are designed to have a spiral effect and to mimic a miner's descent down a mineshaft.

Hawk rode with me again today. He rode his uber special bicycle. We rode 69 miles to our campsite at the White Rock Conservancy. Here is a girl we met and sites we saw along the way:
Sa'Miyah was so proud of her beautiful new bicycle.

Iowa Prairie

Hawk playing the giraffe and getting mulberries that the other cyclists couldn't reach.

Our campsite at White Rock Conservancy near Coon Rapids Iowa:
Carolyn drove, bringing all our bags and stuff, so Hawk and I could ride without bags on our bikes.

Tonight's sunset. I wish Laura were here - I sure do miss her.

Today marks the halfway point as far as the time allowed for this journey (77 days). I'm going to stop riding on August 7th in order to begin teaching August 11th.
