Three Done June 6th - June 12th
Walnut Creek OH to Marion IN 350 miles (983)
This week I was most impressed with the state of Ohio and it's amazing system of bicycle trails. Ohio has more trails than any other state. This encourages more people to ride bicycles. One of the big advantages of this is that motorists are used to seeing cyclists. They are patient and cautious when passing cyclists. I experienced numerous situations where cars could have squeezed by me, but instead they waited until the lane next to them was clear and then they switched over to go far around me. At no time did I get a sense that the drivers felt upset or put out.
Thank you for reading this blog and if you haven't already checked out the interactive map that I linked In the first entry, please do so. Give your computer time to load it and then hit the Let's Go button. If you click on the different sections of the route it will tell you about the different trails that I am riding. It's also a tremendous tool for learning/reviewing some of our country's geography.
Wow!
ReplyDeleteIncredible…would love to see more of that on the West Coast! Pedal on, Rolff!
ReplyDeleteYes more dedicated trails in California will be awesome.
DeleteHooray for Ohio! Looks beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteYes and hooray for Indiana, too. So far the trails here have been every bit as good as those in Ohio. But I think that ended today and that I won't have any more trails in Indiana.
