Day 10B The City

Signs of getting closer to Pittsburgh. Coal barges and steel recycling. We also rode some of the GAP along roadways and in between the freeway.

Organizing for the next leg. Adding panniers and other items needed to be self supporting for the next season of riding. Expecting rain tomorrow.

The Drury Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh where we are staying was originally the Federal Reserve. Love the early 1900s art deco and the vaults in the basement of the hotel.
Pre-rode the beginning of tomorrow's route to get out of the city. Golden Triangle Bikes - the organization that planned our itinerary - was extremely helpful as my planned route seemed dangerous to them. They set me up with a better plan. After pre-riding I believe it's going to be fine. I will need to climb these stairs with my fully loaded bicycle, though.

  1. Love all your photos, from Vault doors to flowers by the side of the trail. Just keep pedaling...and sharing.
